MEET THE TEAM

In 1988, I moved to Canada to pursue new opportunities and to build a better quality of life for my family and me. I started off working for an electric motor manufacturing company. I recall my very first job began inserting coil into stators on a micro core machine and then by hand. I also learned various types of internal connection and testing. Little did I know, then, that this experience would serve as the foundation for my business. At the time, all I saw was an unfulfilled need and took the time to understand how what I did brought value to the company I served.

Quickly realizing the contribution of the production department to the success of the organization, I envisioned and nurtured the thought of leading the function, one day. However, I knew that ambition alone would not have helped me to realize that dream. I supported my ambition with action; I chose to be disciplined and dedicated in doing my job every day with the intention of positioning myself for recognition and career advancement. Acknowledging the need to develop my knowledge and skills, I had decided to pursue further studies in electrical engineering and business management to prepare me for a leadership role.

Sure enough, success happens when preparation meets opportunity; I was offered a supervisory role in the winding department. Excited about this and eager to demonstrate value and my worth, I brought about great structure to the team, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of operations within the department. Four years later, I was promoted to production manager; this is when I truly began to shine.

Among the many successes I had:

Spearheaded operations across Canada and USA. Since assuming this responsibility, I have handled many acquisitions, expansions, reorganizations and disposals of warehouses;

Implemented best practices from various assembly operations from England, Poland, China and India to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness;

Reengineered operating procedures and processes and integrated technology to manage work flows which resulted in the reduction of the company’s backlog from 2 weeks to 1 day and improved customer retention;

Reduced injuries to less than 1.00%; I led health and safety;

Reduced the return percentage to less than 0.05%;

Several line items of Income Statement responsibility directly delivering on Gross Profit targets.

Grateful for the opportunities and my achievements, I started to foster a new dream. After several months of deliberation, I decided to take the risk and here I am, today, leading my very own company, DRS Electric Motor Repairs & Modification Co Inc, towards the vision I have.

Today, I am very happy with the decision I made. Each day, I remind myself of the importance of relationship management to employees and customers, alike. I believe in respecting and creating value for everyone. I aim to put my knowledge and experience into creating the type of company where employees want to come to work and will all contribute to delivering the best possible value for our customers. My personal goal is to partner with manufacturers to deliver key wins for them: to minimize their customers’ downtime and to pass on cost savings to them.

I look forward to realizing this new dream of building a sustainable financially successful company.”
